The summer is finally here! Congratulations to all 2025 Jenkintown graduates.

Fence Posts and Playground Tiles

There’s been a lot of interest in what will happen to the fence posts and tiles that were a part of the fundraising effort for the original playground castle. And we have tentative plans for these items in the future!

Our plan is that in spring 2026, we will work on removing theseitems as carefully as possible in order to not damage them. We foresee the posts faring better than the tiles. You will be able to take back these items and we are hoping that people will make a donation in return. We know people are very fond of these items, and we will be putting the donated money towards Legacy Park where memories will continue to be made.

We are always looking for new donation leads and would love any help you may have. If your company offers matching gifts, or you know someone who may be interested in donating, please share our website with them and email us with your ideas!

Design Day, June 09

We had an amazing day on June 9th where we spent time in the classrooms talking about their wishes for the park, revealed design plans, and of course learned more about what’s going on with the Legacy Park effort. It was a smashing success.

Battle of the Bands, June 24

It was a hot one on Tuesday, June 24. But the audience and the bands were in full force as eight area bands rocked it out to compete to be the winner of our Battle of the Bands competition. Thank you everyone who came out to support the bands and Legacy Park. A special thanks to our sponsors: Jenkintown Community Alliance, Lilly’s Indian, Human Robot, The Little Gallery, Carminati’s, Capricorn Books, and HSA. We couldn’t do it without their support!

Hillside & Elm won. And collectively all bands helped to raise over $5,000 towards Legacy Park.

Thank you everyone who came out and a bigger thank you to those who performed that evening.

Get to Know Our Board Members

Each newsletter, we’d like to introduce you further to one of our board members, this month it’s Kelly!

Kelly Hudson is a former educator who now works in interior design, bringing creativity and organization to both her professional and community endeavors. As a mother of four daughters—three of whom attend Jenkintown Elementary—she and her family have deep roots in the borough, where her husband’s family has lived since 1962. Kelly’s own family has lived on and off in Jenkintown since 2009, further deepening their connection to the community.

Kelly is passionate about community engagement and has played a vital role in various local initiatives. She has served as Vice President of the HSA, co-chair of the Sustainability Committee, a member of Friends of the Jenkintown Public Library, and Director of Children’s Education at Grace Presbyterian Church. She also founded the Block by Block initiative. Kelly is dedicated to strengthening neighborhood connections.

Her extensive experience in leadership and volunteer roles has equipped her with the skills to bring people together, fostering collaboration and leveraging diverse talents to create successful events, initiatives, and meaningful community-building efforts in Jenkintown.
