We’re in a New Year and feeling hopeful. Keep reading to learn about updates on our fundraising progress as well as some fun events this month to support the effort for the park.
You’ve Got Mail

In December, the Community Board sent out mailers far and wide to those connected to Jenkintown School District, alumni families, residents of the borough, and all other interested parties. Our goal with this endeavor was to educate as well as garner support for the project. If you received one and gave, THANK YOU! If it is sitting in your “to do” pile, make good on your New Year’s resolution and knock it out, check it off, get it done!! If you’re so inclined, we have many extras available. Let us deliver them to you to mail to friends or family who you think would also be interested in supporting Legacy Park.
Fundraising Update
It is official… We have crossed over the 1.1 million dollar mark! (And the crowd goes wild!) We only have $400,000 left to go. We feel like that goal is within our reach for breaking ground on the project in June.
The sooner we hit that mark, the earlier we can order the selected playground pieces without having to change the design plans to accommodate a smaller budget. The two areas at risk are the Tot Lot and Hillside Play. Our priority is to complete phase one as previously designed and shared, however, providing the students and community with an updated space is our ultimate goal. We will move forward with the money we currently have, however, it may result in the loss of these two important elements of phase one.
And of course if you yourself would like to donate, you can always do so by clicking here. Another great way to provide ongoing support is to become a monthly member.
Winning Grants in 2025
We are proud to announce that the Legacy Park Community board has been awarded three grants in 2025.
The Jenkintown Rotary Club and Jenkintown Home and School Association awarded our project $1000 each.
We were also awarded $100,000 from the state via Senator Art Haywood. To

Pennants
We have wonderful red and blue pennants for sale. These felt pennants are available in blue or red and have been cut, sewn, and screenprinted by some amazing community volunteers.
Interested in buying one (or two, or three)? Stop by the wonderful Capricorn Books to support a local Jenkintown business and Legacy Park at the same time. All proceeds from the pennant sales will come back to Legacy Park.

Upcoming Partnerships
June Hines Pilates, located right here in the Borough, is excited to partner with us for an amazing Magic Circle workshop. ALL proceeds will benefit Legacy Park. You can register directly with the studio. New to pilates? Come as an observer, jump in to participate, or join via Zoom.

Playground Roadmap

We are down to the final stages, we have 5 months left to bring this project to life. Looking back at 2025 we are astounded at how far the project has come and how generous our community has been. Join the effort, keep the momentum, let’s build this Legacy!
