Newsletter, June 2025

School’s almost out for the summer, but we are still working hard on Legacy Park! Read below for updates and things to do this summer with us!
Fundraising
We’ve a lot of questions about our fundraising platform, Zeffy, and wanted to take a moment to explain what Zeffy is and why we chose to use it. Zeffy is a fundraising platform for non-profits in the US and Canada. It is 100% free for us to use. Typically, a fundraising platform takes a small percentage of fees. Zeffy does not charge a fee. You will see a box at the end of a donation or check out process prompting to give more. This extra amount goes directly to Zeffy which keeps the platform free for us and other organizations. Cool, right?
Not only can we collect donations through Zeffy, but we can also run a store front, auctions, raffles, and more all for free. We even sent this email with Zeffy!
Something to remember is that you do need a credit card or Apple Pay to use Zeffy. Create an account now to make purchases in the future even faster! And now that you know a bit more about the platform, if you haven’t already, consider donating and seeing how it works from a donor perspective!
Show Your Support
If you would like to show your support for Legacy Park with a yard sign please place your order here:
Leads
We are always looking for new donation leads and would love any help you may have. If your company offers matching gifts, or you know someone who may be interested in donating, please share our website with them and email us with your ideas!

Thanks to everyone who came by the Legacy Park tent at the Red and Blue Fair on Saturday, May 17th. It was the first time we revealed the park plans and some of our merchandise to promote the park, it was a very successful day! We raised over $1,500 that afternoon!
Again, thank you to everyone who came by. It’s wonderful to see all of the car magnets and yard signs.
Interested in some merch? We’ll have everything at our booth at the Jenkintown Night Market on Tuesday nights this summer.

Get to Know Our Board Members
Each newsletter, we’d like to introduce you further to one of our board members, this month it’s Bria!
Bria Gardner is originally from Abington and attended Abington High School, where she met her husband. After college, her husband began the long and laborious process of becoming a rheumatologist. His training took them to Virginia, North Carolina, and Massachusetts. When deciding where to settle down for good, Bria and her husband knew they wanted to return to the Philadelphia area to raise their children near extended family. Having grown up in the region, they knew Jenkintown would be a perfect fit for them! Their first-born son is thriving in Kindergarten at JES and they also have a rambunctious 2.5 year old daughter.
Bria is a dreamer and Pinterest enthusiast by nature. By trade, she is an education consultant, having worked with Teach For America, The New Teacher Project (TNTP), and Teachstone to coach teachers, analyze and distribute data, write literacy curricula, design and refine new teacher training programs, and encourage teachers and administrators to push boundaries. She has a penchant for challenging conventions and enjoys thinking outside the box. Bria is honored to serve on the Community Board for Legacy Park at Jenkintown Elementary!
